One thing we are stuck on is.
If we have a girl we are going to name her Allie Elisabeth
If we have a boy his middle name will be james, but we can't come up with a good first name, please post as many boy name suggestions that will go with james as you can think of.
I'll keep you guys updated once I'm pregnant.
Jessica
I think Chris would be a great first name, but I might be a little biased.
How about edward. smile
Ben!
Caleb
Arthurand Michael.
Whatever you do, don't name him Daniel!
Oh trust me I won't.
names I like so far are noah, alex or alexander, davy, not sure of others yet.
names we like
for a girl
allie alexis
allie elisabeth
alexis ?
for boys
alex james
noah james
How about Hunter, Vincent, Lucas, Nicholas, Steven, Paul, Haiden, Adam... For girl Alexis: Nikki, Danielle, Navaeh, Janette,, Marie...

Yay! Congratulations! Praying for an easy pregnancy and a healthy, baby and safe delivery.
congrads!
Congrats and as for names I think either Gabriel or Noey not to be confused with Noah
5 weeks today, got levels checked today and they were 2000! perfect for where I am, we get to see and hopefully hear the heartbeat next thursday the 17th!
Well, we got a ultrasound yesterday due date is october 10th heartbeat was 130 at 6 weeks 3 days, baby was measuring perfectly, had morning sickness since sunday.
Awww, glad to heaar that you and baby are doing well.
Glad to hear things are good wit you & the baby..take care of yourself..i jus found out this wkd my cousin miscarried, twins, but she & her fiance will try again..take care.
Hope things continue to go well
congrats! glad things are going well for you. :)
we have another ultrasound on thursday along with bloodwork and such, still haven't settled on a boy name names we like so far are luke, cody, kody, caleb, kaleb, tyler, noah, and alexander.
his middle name will be james but.. I dunno.
Well we had another ultrasound today, baby is measuring weel, heartbeat of 167. I'll be 10 weeks Saturday. Still having a lot of nausia at night and in the mornings but I think, its getting better, slowly.
I wish you nothing but happy tiems to come. Know what it feels like to not be able to get pregnant. I have some problems and the doctors think I might not everbe be able to have kids. I love them so much. Will pray.
We found out today its a girl! Her name will be Allie Elisabeth.
So all this time, you were trying to think of a good first name for a boy, but found out it was a girl? Congrats anyway... and hope everything goes well.
we had a girl name picked, just oculdn't decide a boy name. but she's a girl, so that solves that.
best of luck to you and your family.
Does anyone have suggestions for good online websites to baby shop that are easy to navigate I tried like babys are us but it was rediculous heh, I want something a little simpler.
I've also used Babys R Us.. But i would also shop at Walmart.com & Target.com. Kohls.com also has some good stuff & thechildrensplace is also a good website but their just mainly clothing...
You know usually they say if you have picked out a name but it was only for one gender and you have trouble picking out the name for the other gender then you most likely will have the gender you picked out the name for. I found that kind of interesting since we had Michael Alexander picked out for a boy but we couldn't find girl names that we could agree on and sure enough he was a healthy baby boy. I at first wanted to name him michael Christian but he wanted alexander which I thought sounded just as nice as christian.
Well, I will be 12 weeks Saturday, have had a few ultrasounds just to make sure things were going okay, and we can regurarly hear baby with doppler now. I feel so overwhelmed not knowing what to buy and from where, and am having a real hard time deciding between breast feeding and bottle feeding. We've decided to do the nursery in Winnie the Pooh so at least that's one decision down.
I would definitely say breastfeeding. there is nothing more better than mother's milk for baby, but I also understand if breastfeeding isn't possible. sometimes babies just don't do well with it. The other thing to consider if you do want to breastfeed is you will need to keep yourself pretty hydrated and feed yourself and all that stuff because it really does zap your energy. Remember, even if you breastfeed and have to supplement with formula, every drop of breastmilk is golden to baby.
Does anyone know any websites that aren't huge but have good selection of things like bibs, blankets, shirts, body suits, etc. with sayings on them, I like cute things with like mamas baby or what not on it.
Well, you got plenty of time to decide on bf or bottle (: I tried breastfeeding my son when he was born but he didnt latch on well to feed him so i pumped/freezed milk. I loved it but i would have bfed him if he had latched on.
A Winnie the Pooh theme is cute! Walmart has lots of winnie the Pooh stuff & you could save lots of money. Not sure if you have tried their website. Not sure if you would go to the store but ive used their site to store & online to purchase things there. Like on an other post, i think thechildrensplace.com is easy because its all newborn to kids clothing & its not too pricey & you can save. Also it is a bit harder to do online shopping. If you go to the store you can ask question, see in person what you plan to buy etc... what i do like about checking things out online is reading reviews on something. I don't know if any of this help but good luck. & if you need a list on what you will need as a new mom there is a post on here about that...
if you're thinking about breast feeding you may want to talk with some one at lalache. That way you get some good info about it, and if you do have latch issues or something when she is born they can help you out. I love the bonding time breast feeding gives me with my girl, and it's so good for her. :) I used amazon and babies r us for all of my baby shopping. :D
Wapart's mobile site is nice and I like amazon.com. I think amazon is still doing that thing where if you sign up for amazon mom, you get 3 months of free prime membership. and wow! you found out early what you were having! They couldn't tell me what Hannah was till she was at least 18 weeks. That was in '09. Well, good luck and congrats on the baby girl.
Lol I mean't Walmart's mobile site. Sorry!
I'm going to be 14 weeks saturday, hard to believe. We're also moving when I'm going to be 15 weeks but it will be better because allie will be able to have her own room. I still haven't bought anything I have no idea what to buy or what products are good, lol. I want to buy something for her so badly even if its just something small but there are so many things, lol! OOn a good note my doctrs apts have been going good we heard her heartbeat yesterday was in teh 150's, and I'm cleared for our flight to NC for the move. Morning sickness has disappeared and now I'm starting with the headaches, slight heartburn, and frequent urinations as well as back pain and hip pain, but its totally worth it. I wish there was a smalllish site with perhaps unique items or something so I could just buy her something small, as I know mom and I will be shopping like crazy soon.
Congrats, Firekitty! I am so happy for you!
My husband and I are also trying, and I think in this time I am going to buy a few little things ahead of time so that I won't feel so overwhelmed. I feel a little crazy doing it that way, but I just need to wrap my head around the idea of being a mom, if that makes sense.
well I'm 15 weeks today. We're moving across country and into our new house on Tuesday which will be nice as we'll be near to my mom like.. right across the street. After that I think we'll probably start shopping rather soon.
Wow how amazing. Good luck on the move. am excited for you.
baby blankets and clothes are always a good thing to start buying, lol. Congrats on the move and may your delivery and the rest of your pregnancy go with no problems.
its so crazy sometimes I can't believe there is a little baby inside me, since I dont' feel her all the time yet, and most of my symptoms have gone since I'm in the second trimester. I do feel her in the evenings, though for a few hours, so that's reassuring, and i can always hear her on the doppler. She loves my left side lol when she's sleeping but when she wakes up and gets moving I can feel her all the way across. She's still down low, but I'm assuming she'll start to move up pretty soon.
Its the best feeling in the world (: i miss those days...Soon you will feel her move lots more (:...Congrats on the move & enjoy your pregnancy
well after all this we had a 3d ultrasound today and its a boy, the test we had done was wrong but we're super excited now because we know for sure and we got his car seat and stroller, bouncy seat, and pack and play and lots of other smaller things today!
I've heard of a pack and play, but i'm not exactly sure what those are. Can you please describe it for me?
My friend got one for her son who is due in July.
I also need ideas for things to get for a baby shower, since she's having a boy, and she's going with a winny the pooh theme for him. of course, I'm getting diapers, but i'm trying to think of something else that's cute.
Glad things are going really wel.
a pack and play is like a fold up play pin, mostly.
we're naming him noah james.
baby shower, I'd think bottles, blankets, maybe a diaper stacker or changing pads.
we got Noah's car seat, stroller, bouncy seat, pack and play, and bathtub as well as lots of clothes, blankets, and such already we still need to get bottles, diapers, a swing, a basinet, etc.
Not planning to breastfeed? Just curioius..
No, I can't with the meds I have to take.
So I'm 19 weeks 3 days now. I'll be 20 weeks on Tuesday. I have the big ultrasound on Monday just to check for abnormalities and confirm Noah's gender. I feel him move more and more each day it seems though all his kicks are still pretty low. We've gotten his carseat, stroller, bouncy seat, tons of clothes, blankets, a few bottles, 2 packs of diapers, a pack and play, a basinet, and a few other misc things, oh and a bathtub. My dad is getting him a crib and my fiancee's other mom is getting him a swing. Still gotta get more diapers, bottles, monitors, wash clothes, bath soap and stuff like that. I feel more excited now more and more and now I just can't wait to meet this little miracle.
Yep...my sister has a four month old daughter, and we bought her the pack and play. Before we bought it, we had heard nothing about it, but according to her, it's a god's send! (: And again, congratulations!
Awww...Boys are fun. I have a three-year-old son who cracks me up all the time. Lol Cute name, too.
I am 20 weeks today. I had my anatmy ultrasound yesterday and little noah is definitely a noah, and is growing right on track. everythign measuring good, no birth defects detected!
23 weeks 1 day, had another scan yesterday and little man growing perfectly no defects at all, and just perfect. Go back to the docs in 4 weeks at 26 weeks then starting every 2 weeks. Also have my 3d Ultrasound booked for july 19th and my family baby shower for july 23rd.
Well, I'm 24 weeks 5 days now. Little man moving so much now. I've started going swimming and I think he likes that. We got the crib put together and have sort of started on his room but it won't be finished until after the baby shower. Somehow I believe I'm having a baby but at the same time it seems so unreal, I never thought it'd happen becuase of all the things that happened to me as a child. I was on kemo drugs, and they told me I'd never have a child, so he's really a miracle. I just can't wait til September when I can hold him.
That's awesome. Question though: Is it possible to tell the sex of a baby at 10 weeks. I always thought that was way too early. I thought people usually found out like at 15-20 or something like that.
if you have cvs or amneo done which arries its own risks its possible to tell as early as 10 weeks, there is also a blood test that can tell a bit earlier, but via ultrasound the very earliest is 12 weeks and that depends on teh baby, the mother, etc, and boys are a lot easier ot tell than girls that early on.
Well, I'm going to be 28 weeks pregnant on Friday. My little man is doing great, and I found out yesterday after massive amounts of pain that I have gallstones which means i have to have surgery when my baby is born, and I can't eat a lot of stuff until after that happens, but life is still good as my little man is doing good.
Oy! Not fun! I had gallstones After my first was born & they feel almost like labor. It was scary & painful, to say the least. I'm sure it was even scarier for you 'cuz you're not due for another 12 weeks or so. Good luck.
Ouch. Twelve more weeks with those? My goodness ... Hugs.
All the best, Fierkitty! :)
Hey Firekitty I just wanted to say congratulations on the bundle of joy in your belly.
Don't be surprised if that bundle of joy turns out to be a handful. HaHa.
Again, congratulations I hope he is healthy and happy.
well I had to have emergency surgery last week to remove the gallbladder becuase it was about to rupture but baby is still inside and doing well, had my baby shower saturday which was fun and now just resting.
fire kitty. I had my gall blatter out when the daughter was 3 weeks old. not much fun. Did the docs tell you for sure the meds you are on will make it impossible to breast feed? if not you can check with the infant risk center. If you tell them what you're on and how much they can tell you what class it falls in to and how much gets in the milk. the number for the U.S. is (806)-352-2519. Good luck. :)
its not just the meds, but that I choose not to breast feed except for once when he's born for multiple reasons, part is my meds, which the doctors agree with though.
Well I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow, little man is doing well, and at 29 weeks 4 days was measuring right on track at 2 lbs 15 oz. I have another ultrasound to check growth next friday as well as a baby shower at my moms work. His kicks are getting so strong they hurt sometimes and sometimes his rolling around even hurts cuz he's getting so big. I can't wait to meet this little man. the doctors tell me I have around 3 to 7 weeks to go because they won't let me go past 38, but they'll let me go as early as 34 since he already had the shots to mature his lungs.
Why won't they let you go past 38? glad he's doing so well. *smile*
Becuase I've had the shots to mature his lungs, and because of my swelling and such. They said they'll let me deliver if i go on my own between 34 and 37 and then probably induce me.
what I'm wondering is if you found out because of amneo what it is, then not only would you know what the baby is, but also what is wrong with the baby. Medical professionals don't usually do amneo or cvs unless there is either a big risk of something being passed, or the baby has a condition they need to be aware of.
Good luck with everything. It would be best for your sake and the baby's if you went into labor alone and didn't have to be induced. Especially if inducing means giving you drugs like pitocin to make you go into labor. They did it to me when I was 37 weeks and... well it was totally unsuccessful and it caused me and my baby a lot of unnecessary problems. And even though I'd never given birth before and didn't know what labor pains were supposed to be like, I could definitely tell that those caused by drug induced labor weren't normal. At least for me they were a lot more intense. But, who knows.. everyone is different and maybe other people have had easy induced labors. Anyway.. good luck.
I'm 32 weeks 5 days now will be 33 on friday. I'm having twice a week appointments now because I've developed high blood pressure so they are monitoring me incase protein in the urine and other things develop. if I don't go on my own or the blood pressure doesn't get worse they will induce september 30th.
This is so amazing to hear your progress. Am hoping that baby comes along here very soon for you. Smiley.
I'm 34 weeks 3 days, little man could come at anytime now they tell me and they won't stop the labor. I have 3 times a week appointments now with 2 non stress tests a week as well as blood and urine tests. I'm hoping he comes soon as I'm pretty uncomfortable hehe.
how's the high blood pressure? You all right in that area? Hugs.
its staying up, I'm gaining more and more water weight but they say not to be concerned, but I am still concerned.
36 weeks 5 days now. He'll be full term friday but they say he's fine to come whenever, though they won't induce til oct. 4th, ugh, I want him here already I'm so uncomfortable, and sick, and I just want him, it still seems so unreal, its hard to imagine, but at the same time I'm super excited, just ready to meet him and get this part over. Hurry up little man.
I spent the weekend in teh hospital having my blood pressures monitored, and got to come home yesterday. I'm 37 weeks 4 days now and they will be inducing my labor if he's not here by monday night. So nervous and excited.
Hi firekitty,
I hope that things go good for yu and your little one!
Goodluck to you both!
I hope it went well. Can not wait to hear.
38 weeks 2 dyas, induciton is scheduled to begin tomorrow monday at around 4 pm with a foley bulb and then piticin if needed tuesday morning. I'm more nervous about the foley insertion than anything else but so relieved its finally here and ready to meet this little wriggling monkey, I call him my lil monster..lol. I'll post our birth story when I get the oppurtunity.
shaphoop
Good luck with induction and delivery. can'tt wait to hear what happened. Hugs. Hope everything goes well. give the little guy a hug from me. *smile*
congratulations on getting pregnant.
boy names, adam, collin, connor, dylan, jacob, ethan, parker, ian
Girl names ariana, alexia, daria, halie, jewel
I believe his name is Noah, if i'm not mistaken. i'm pretty sure she mentioned it a while bakc. To the original poster, hope you and your son are doing well. *smile*
Noah was born 9/27/11 via emergency c section. I was in labor for 20 hours and after being at 5 cm and minus 3 station for 13 or those hours they sectioned cuz his heartrate was starting to drop. He was born at 2 27 pm and was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long. He's just perfect and we're home now working on breast feeding as I decided that was best, but he doesn't wanna latch.
Just wanted to say congratulations!
Congratulations!. I'm sure he will bring you lots of happiness and enjoyment
aww, congratulations. *smile* Hope things get better where latching on is concerned. Hugs to both of you.
@Firekitty: That was exactly why I had a cesarean with my son. As far as the latching, just be patient & get lots of support from your lactation consultant if you can. Congratulations & good luck to you all.
@Firekitty: I also wanted to give you some info for an organization called La Leche League:
The site is http://www.llli.org. There's a form to search for a leader by the state you live in & you can get support in your area. If you are unable to find a Group or Leader near you, 24-hour breastfeeding help is available toll-free in the US from the LLL Breastfeeding Helpline-US
at 877-4-LALECHE (877-452-5324). HTH.
Well after 2 weeks of trying to breast feed and now he just won't latch, we've just made the total switch to formula. We finally found one that seems to agree with his tummy, and its better for both of us. He's doing great and growing like a champ. He's such a good baby only crying when he needs a feed or wants his mommy. I can't believe he's 15 days old already it seems to have gone so fast.
Smiles. Good luck to you both. :)
well lil man is a month old, we're now about half breast half bottle because my milk supply is low and trying to build it, slowly, he's already a bit over 9 pounds and doing fantastic. I'm so happy to be a mommy.
Congrats, and good luck to you. The only thing is if you want to build your milk supply you have to be very consistent with it.. this could mean trying to breastfeed more freequently or pumping your milk, and drinking plenty of fluids etc. I wish I could have done better with my daughter but oh well.. she's 14 months now and perfectly healthy. Good luck to you both.
Hello. So good to hear you all are doing so good. Hope he keeps growing and staying healthy smiely.
7 weeks old now, doing great, we're pretty much all on bottles now because my milk has all but dried up btu he's doing fine and he's happy and so am I! looking for some books to read to him now.
Noah will be 12 weeks on Tuesday. He's growing so fast. over 13 pounds now and just such a good baby. Love him so much. I read books to him, and we listen to books on teh NLS digital player too. He loves his musical and light up toys, and his puppy dogs, we have 3. He's just such a good baby, pretty much sleeping thorugh the night now most nights, just an all around blessing, can't wait for his first christmas!
Enjoy every moment with him. They really do grow up fast
My name is little foot and I miss the time when my daughter all she did was sleep. now she is a active baby.
Glad to hear Noah is doing so well. *smile* How was Christmas?
He had a great christmas. He's jsut doing so well.
